We are living in an amazing era for beauty products and treatments. Devices that were only available at costly spas and used by celebrities are now slowly trickling down the consumer chain and becoming more affordable. Today we will explore a new and effective microcurrent product used for tightening of the skin, jowls and general wrinkle reduction: the MyoLift Mini.
What is a microcurrent?
A microcurrent is a low level electrical current that helps to stimulate and re-educate the muscle. This current also stimulates chemical reactions in the body to repair and heal on a cellular level. It stimulates ATP, increases collagen and decreases fine lines.
What do Google results say about it?
The microcurrent can help reduce acne scars and stretch marks. It also boosts collagen and elastin production which helps to plump up the skin.
How does the Myolift Mini work?
This machine uses electricity to promote cell growth in skin. The procedure is noninvasive, injection-free, and painless. It almost sounds too good to be true, but according to professionals it really does work.
“These treatments have immediate benefits with absolutely no recovery time.”Graceanne Svendsen, LE, CME, licensed aesthetician at Shafer Plastic Surgery and Laser Center.
How does the Myolift Mini work?
The MyoLift Mini delivers up to 400 micro amps of microcurrent (this is the same as you would get with professional spa equipment). If you don’t want to start with that much, you can take it down to 175 amps for a lower frequency. The microcurrent has numerous benefits but in essence this machine offers 2 programs: ERASE and EDUCATE.
Program 1 – ERASE
This program is designed to literally erase wrinkles. It works by sending the current through to the muscle: relaxing and lengthening it. When you get a wrinkle, it is because the muscle contracts repeatedly. This is what botox is used for (to relax the muscle and smooth out the wrinkle). The ERASE regime on the Myolift Mini is most commonly used on crow’s feet and wrinkles around the mouth, but it can be used on any area of the face that has wrinkles due to contracting muscles.
Program 2 – EDUCATE
This program contracts your facial muscles and tightens them.
Does the Myolift Mini hurt?
No. If used correctly the Myolift Mini should not hurt at all. There is actually no sensation. If you do notice some twitching when using the EDUCATE current you should simply turn it down to a lower setting. Customers have reported seeing smoother skin from the ERASE regime as well as tautness and lift of the face from the EDUCATE regime.
Can I use the Myolift Mini with Botox and/or injectables?
Yes. You can use the microcurrent treatment alongside of Botox injections. Wait two weeks after an injection to use the Myolift Mini on the erase setting. There is no point in using the EDUCATE setting with Botox, because Botox works to relax the muscle and EDUCATE works to stimulate it.
How often can I use the Myolift Mini?
You can start by using the Myolift Mini 3 times a week: 5-15 minutes per treatment. It is safe for daily use.
Is the Myolift Mini better than Botox?
Both methods produce a similar result by smoothing out the skin. The Myolift mini works by exercising and stimulating facial muscles. Botox works by relaxing/paralyzing the muscle. The advantage of Botox is that it has a more immediate result. However, over time too much Botox could actually atrophy the muscle and give it a droopy look. The Myolift mini is more of a workout for the face which promotes healthy blood flow and cell production, and of course can be done at home without needles.
